Morrells delighted with first Mercedes-Benz vans01 September 2011

Wood coatings specialist Morrells is reporting positive results from its new Mercedes-Benz vans.

Eleven Euro 5 Sprinter 313CDIs have recently joined the fleet and are located across Morrells' nationwide network of depots. The remainder of its 22 vehicle fleet are due to be replaced with Mercedes-Benz Sprinters within the next 12 months.

"The Sprinter is a class-leading van powered by a clean, green Euro 5 engine that is impressively economical and is also helping us to reduce our carbon footprint," says Morrells transport and distribution manager Martin Haggart.

Indeed, the 129bhp 313CDI model is 15% more fuel-efficient than the popular 311CDI it replaced last year. This equates to an extra 4.5mpg, while CO2 emissions are down by 13%.

As well as being environmentally friendly, Morrells' first Mercedes-Benz vans have been a big hit with its drivers, who appreciate the Sprinters' cab and smoothness on the road.

The Medium-length vehicles also came with a comprehensive array of active and passive safety features, all of which are fitted as standard.
