Morrison’s RDC becomes 350th VOSA ATF 24 July 2013

Bus, coach and truck operators now have even more choice of annual test providers, as VOSA announces the opening of the 350th Authorised Testing Facility (ATF).

VOSA presented Morrison's Regional Distribution Centre, in Bridgwater, Somerset, with a certificate today (Wednesday 24 July 2013).

"The opening of the 350th ATF is another milestone in the transformation of bus, coach and truck testing," comments VOSA chief executive Alastair Peoples.

"The first ATF opened in January 2010, and today nearly 70% of tests are conducted at non-VOSA sites," he continues.

"For most [operators] getting vehicles tested, it means a shorter distance to travel, meaning less downtime for vehicles and employees, as well as savings on fuel costs," reasons Peoples.

"And where vehicles are tested at the site of maintenance, you also tend to see a higher first-time pass rate," he adds.

Robert Ward, from Morrison's, confirms that the new site will allow the company to reduce dead mileage, fuel usage and unproductive workshop hours for the 170 plus MOTs required for its fleet alone.

"Also, the opportunity to facilitate third party MOT testing is a first for Morrisons," he adds.
