Motts Travel boost fuel management with Eclipse29 May 2015

Coach operator Motts Travel is reporting improved visibility of fuel use and stocks across its 65-strong fleet, after implementing the Eclipse system from Cameron Forecourt.

The Aylesbury-based operator approached Cameron Forecourt for a solution, when it became unhappy with its legacy system. A priority was that the new offering should interface with on-board vehicle devices to capture live mileage for each journey, as well as deliver highly accurate fuel stock information.

The answer was Eclipse, which has accurate tank gauging capability. The upgrade also included an OLE electronic tank gauge, which interfaces to the Eclipse Terminal to provide accurate stock level data.

The new system is linked directly via GPRS from the fuel island to the management website, so Motts no longer has to carry out daily polling of tanks.

"The new system has not only improved our visibility of usage and stock levels, but has also allowed us to more effectively manage the fleet with the additional benefit in costs savings that this brings," says Chris Groombridge, depot manager for Motts.
