New £24m fund available to drive low-emission transport12 September 2016

Innovate UK is inviting bids for a new round of funding to cut the greenhouse gas emissions produced by the UK’s transport sector.

Up to £24m is being made available in the Low Emissions Freight and Logistics Trial, run in conjunction with OLEV (the Office for Low Emission Vehicles) and a follow-up to the Low Carbon Truck Trial.

Heavy-goods vehicles and vans are responsible for 31% of the UK’s domestic transport greenhouse gas emissions. The new competition aims to encourage the widespread introduction of low-emission vehicles to UK fleets. It covers all sizes of trucks, vans and emergency vehicles.

Applications for funding must be received by noon on 19 October (with final registrations by noon on 12 October).
