Philip Judge connects to Rockinger couplings fleet-wide 07 September 2016

International transport company Philip Judge, which has a client portfolio that includes the Queen’s farms in Windsor, is now specifying Rockinger couplings, supplied by Jost UK, as standard for all new tractors.

Managing director Philip Judge says he will also be fitting them to existing vehicles when replacing couplings that have reached the end of their service life – with 50mm and 57.5mm couplings specified to suit his trailer fleet.

All of the couplings specified are based on Rockinger’s pneumatically-actuated design, selected for their ease of access compared to manually-operated alternatives.

Jost makes the point that drivers frequently need to get under trucks and trailers where manually-operated couplings are fitted, whereas pneumatic actuation can be activated from within the cab.

This is particularly useful for Philip Judge, where the firm’s drivers are often operating in mucky environments.

“Having spoken to [Jost] it was easy to make the decision to switch to the Rockinger couplings,” states Judge.

“Not only are they clearly a very good product – at least equal to anything else I’ve seen in the market – but the level of service and support offered by Jost UK is certainly the best I’ve encountered.”
