Renault Trucks and BRS will relocate UK to Warwick 22 November 2013

Renault Trucks UK and BRS announced yesterday (21 November 2013) that it is starting consultation with employees at Dunstable, following a recommendation to relocate their UK HQ to Volvo in Warwick by August of 2014.

The move would see Renault Trucks and BRS joining Volvo Trucks, Volvo Bus and Coach, Volvo Financial Services, Volvo Penta, Volvo IT, Group Business Services and Volvo Group Real Estate in Wedgnock Lane, Warwick.

"We believe this relocation would provide our teams with the tools and systems to deliver continued growth following the successful launch of our new Euro 6 range," states Gino Costa, managing director for Renault Trucks.

"A further investment of £480,000 in training and workshop facilities at Warwick also means our employees would have broader career progression and long-term development opportunities," he adds.

Costa insists that Renault Trucks and BRS will still continue to be separate brands within the Volvo Group with their own sales, marketing and aftersales teams. However, he also acknowledges the obvious efficiencies in terms of shared corporate back-office functions.

As for Volvo Group itself, the leviathan sees "great potential" in the Renault Trucks brand, which "plays a vital role in the group's growth strategy".

Over the past five years, Volvo Group has invested more than eur 2 billion in Renault Trucks, including in product development, the industrial base and its operations.
