Shire Aggregates renews tipper fleet21 December 2022

Shire Aggregates ReadyMix Group tippers The Loadmaster Lite is said to afford a 19 tonne plus payload potential

Shire Aggregates, part of the North East-based ReadyMix Group, has received 18 8x4 tippers that feature Thompsons’ Loadmaster Lite bodywork.

The Loadmaster Lite is said to afford a 19-tonne plus payload potential when fitted to the majority of UK - spec 8x4 chassis.

Of the new tippers, 14 are C Range Renaults, with the remaining four Volvo FMXs, all of which have had their bodies built by Thompsons’ northern factory in Blackburn.

The new trucks mark an investment by ReadyMix, which took over Shire more than a year ago. Renewal of the tipper fleet now gives the combined operation a fleet of more than 50 heavy goods vehicles.

ReadyMix commercial director Scott Woolston said: “The Group now has four operating sites, three on Teesside and one in Leeds, and our future plans are very much about continuous, steady growth.”
