Tap into technology ahead of new FORS Standard09 January 2019

Ahead of the introduction of version 5 of the FORS Standard next week (14 January), ProVision is reminding operators that its CameraMatics solution and new ProVision Go app can help them to manage risk, ensure compliance and improve road safety.

The updated FORS Standard recommends that fleet operators make use of vehicle equipment and technology, and it now recognises online and cloud-based systems as equal alternatives for storing documents such as completed safety checks.

At FORS Bronze level, the ProVision Go app can store fleet data such as registration details, location and numbers all in one place for easy retrieval. The app also has a Checklist Manager function, with personalised checklists possible for any issues arising from walk-around checks so fleet managers can review and approve necessary repairs.

The CameraMatics solution has several features to help operators manage the requirements of FORS Silver accreditation, including recording technology for camera systems.

“Since vehicle cameras started to become popular many operators looked at them purely as ‘crash cams’. However, we have promoted the safety and compliance benefits of cameras and DVRs from the very beginning and our solution has been proven time and time again to be highly effective in these areas,” says Mervyn O’Callaghan, managing director at ProVision CameraMatics.

“The new ProVision Go app is the latest addition to our package and, with the launch of the new Standard only a few days away, it could not have come at a better time.”
