TIP announces 1,000 trailer order for full ambient fleet replacement14 April 2015

TIP Trailer Services has announced today (14 April) that it is investing in 1,000 ambient trailers for delivery during 2015, as a full replacement of its ambient fleet.

Announced at the opening day of the Commercial Vehicle Show (NEC, Birmingham), the order is believed to be the largest of its type and has been placed with several UK trailer manufacturers.

SDC will supply 800 of the trailers, with a range of curtainsiders, box-vans and sliding bogie skeletal trailer models.

Some of the SDC trailers are also specified to EN12642-XL, a European directive for load retention, and one of these types is on show at the NEC this week.

Trailer manufacturer Dennison is also building 100 sliding bogie skeletal specification trailers for TIP.

TIP says it will announce a further investment soon for its reefer fleet.
