TMD Friction approves brake relining centres06 October 2022

Textar brand owner TMD Friction has awarded some of its key customers special status as an approved commercial vehicle brake relining centre, in the first-of-a-kind accreditation by the braking friction specialist.

The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI)-accredited scheme sees several TMD Friction customers approved as trusted braking relining centres, providing confidence in the service centre’s quality offering in both products and technical capability.

Scott Irwin, head of technical training at TMD Friction, said: “Several of our valued customers have displayed continual professional development and awareness of the correct relining procedure, and as a result we’re delighted to offer this seal of approval to provide confidence and rubber stamp their credentials.

“It’s imperative that the standardised TMD process for brake relining is followed for commercial vehicles as it is a safety critical component.”

TMD Friction’s technical training programme enabled its customers to satisfy IMI criteria for the standardised process for correct, safety conscious relining of commercial vehicle brake assemblies.

Companies are accredited by site. One customer, Dingbro, has had 13 sites accredited. All of the other companies have had only one site accredited. They are, in alphabetical order: All Spares, CV Logics, Fleetwheels, Grannings Nass, LCP, Picksons, Waveney Truck Parts, Wessex and Wrightparts.
