Transdek presented with second Queen’s Award24 July 2012

Loading equipment manufacturer Transdek has been presented with the Queen's Award for Enterprise in Innovation.

It is the second time the company has won one of the awards, after being honoured in 2003 for innovation, in recognition of its work in increasing vehicle load volumes and enhancing transport efficiencies through the development of an internal vehicle loading system.

The award recognises the company's continued innovation in the production and installation of modular hydraulic lifts to service double deck trailers, which can carry over 60% more goods than conventional HGVs.

The Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire, Sir Andrew Buchanan, made the presentation at Transdek's factory in Harworth, and toured the company's production facility.

After receiving the award, Transdek managing director Mark Adams said: "It was an honour to welcome The Lord-Lieutenant and Lady Belinda to Transdek and show them some of the latest developments we are working on. Receiving a second Queen's Award for Innovation is a great achievement for everyone at Transdek."

Adams claims that Transdek's lifts provide unrivalled benefits that have increased the viability of double-deck trailer deliveries across a range of sites and industry sectors.

The company's focus on the development of pre-built, surface-mounted, modular double-deck lift systems, has, in some cases, seen unit installation times cut from three months to one day, he adds.
