The Scottish operator’s latest two additions are both DAF LF150 curtainsider rigids with day cabs. Each has a purpose-built restraining system, along with 1-tonne, full-closure cantilever tail-lift with detachable safety gates, and Vehcam camera system with left-turn monitoring.
William Wilson operates 21 branches throughout Scotland: one of the new trucks is based at the Ayr branch, while the other is based at the Cumbernauld branch.
The new vehicles are carrying out multi-drop deliveries and, according to David McKissack, William Wilson’s area manager south, can clock up “some serious mileage – that’s why we like to stick with the DAFs because they’re really reliable”.
The operator has used Ryder for more than ten years for all of its 18-tonners and 7.5-tonners.
McKissack adds: “We keep coming back to Ryder for a number of reasons. We get value for money and a very good service... The proximity of the Ryder locations to our branches is also an important factor.”
