Advanced Supply Chain Group takes delivery of 35 new Renault T Evolution trucks28 June 2022

Advanced Supply Chain Group (ASCG) which specialises in the fashion retail logistics sector and counts ASOS, Next and Asda among its customers, said it chose the Renault T Evolution 13-litre T480 tractor due to its environmental benefits and interior improvements.

Trevor Fallas, group head of fleet & compliance at ASCG said: “Like everybody else, we are looking at reducing our carbon footprint and CO2 emissions whilst keeping an eye on rising fuel costs, and the new Renault deals with all of that.

“We’ve chosen the Optifleet software in all of the trucks, which tracks driver behaviour and driving style, CO2 emissions, and fuel consumption. We’ve also taken into account our drivers’ needs, it’s their office and where they also rest and sleep.”

The company, which has sites in Halifax, Sheffield, Bradford and Corby as well as a pilot site in Newhaven, monitors driver style on a daily basis and offers a bonus scheme to drivers hitting their targets.

The new vehicles make up 55% of their fleet and have been supplied by Hexagon Leasing on contract lease. Hexagon is also fleet managing the trucks.

All of the vehicles were supplied to Hexagon by Renault Trucks dealership JDS Truck & Van.

Mark Griffiths, Dealer Principal at JDS Truck & Van said: “The new Evolution range includes 3% fuel savings on the previous model and a host of other improvements.”

He added: “It is also fitted with LED lights as standard and additional lights have also been positioned on the inside of the doors to illuminate the door sill for increased driver safety when getting in and out of the vehicle at night.”
