Brian Daly Transport races to add special edition Renault to its fleet

Irish warehousing and logistics company Brian Daly Transport has taken delivery of a Renault Premium truck racing special series tractor unit as the new flagship truck on its 36-strong fleet.

The special edition 460.25 6x2 LD TML truck was supplied by through the local Renault Trucks dealer, Setanta Vehicle Sales, and was purchased, according to the company following "outstanding fuel figures" from previous Renault Premiums on the fleet.

The truck has been fitted the Optidriver+ automated gearbox and will undertake collection and delivery for Brian Daly Transport's major client, Coca Cola, across Ireland.

Brian Daly, managing director, Brian Daly Transport, says: "One of the main reasons we are moving to an all-Renault fleet is the tremendous fuel savings we have achieved from our current Renaults. The new Premiums are running at 9-9.5 mpg, compared to 7-7.5mpg on the older DAFs, which is outstanding."

After sales service was also cited at a key reason for the move to Renault: "We have a great relationship with Setanta, who always offer us a quick turnaround, meaning very little downtime," explains Daly. "We are delighted with the new Premium. Its 'racing inspired' design looks fantastic on the road and it also has the lowest fuel consumption and the best payload on the market."

The new Premium is the latest Renault truck to join Brian Daly Transport's fleet, as part of an on-going programme which will see the company replacing Scania and DAF to eventually run an all-Renault fleet by mid 2013.
