Brigade clears blind spot confusion at CV Show14 April 2015

Visitors to Brigade Electronics’ stand at the Commercial Vehicle Show – opening today (14 April) at the NEC, Birmingham – will be able to see a clear demonstration of multiple blind spots around a vehicle.

On the stand floor, Brigade has a 2D graphic of a truck to show the position of all the blind spots. While most collisions on the left side grab media attention – involving cyclists and pedestrians – they account for 18% of accidents, while 32% are on the right-hand side, according to statistics from the police accident database.

"This shows that we can no longer consider blind spots in isolation," says Emily Hardy, Brigade's marketing manager.

Brigade will be demonstrating its Backeye 360 system, which gives the driver a real-time, 360-degree view of the vehicle in one image.

Visitors to the stand (4E90) will be able to view live footage on a TV screen from a model vehicle fitted with Backeye 360.
