Brigade Electronics has won an award at the Logistics UK Awards 2022 for a product that limits collisions with vulnerable road users and heavy goods vehicles (HGV).

The Careye product won the award for the most innovative product of the year category.

The system combines a wing camera placed on the side of the vehicle based on pixel recognition and artificial intelligence (AI).

It detects pedestrians, cyclists and other objects in a monitoring area. In dangerous situations, it warns drivers with acoustic and visual alarms to avoid a possible collision.

The camera, which is used as a detection sensor, recognises the presence of a vulnerable road user alongside the vehicle using AI based on deep learning algorithms and neural networks contained in the electronic control unit.
