Bus Eireann ups efficiency with Stertil Koni Skylift 05 November 2015

Ireland’s national bus and coach operator Bus Eireann says it has saved space and improved chassis washing efficiency at its Broadstone depot, in Dublin, since installing a galvanised Skylift vehicle lift from Stertil Koni.

The 35 tonne Skylift (type SKY350-12) 12-metre parallel platforms have been recessed into the work bay floor so vehicles can be driven onto the lift.

Once the bus or coach is in position, the automated high pressure chassis wash programme commences.

When the cycle completes, the lift is used to raise the vehicle to 1.75 metres to allow spot cleaning by a technician using a manual high pressure washer lance == an operation that is eased by the fact that the Skylift has no cross beams and posts.

“Our chassis washing operations are now extremely efficient,” says Kevin Tully, Bus Eireann’s regional engineering manager.

“Also, because the Skylift and the automated wash system are accommodated within the same footprint, we have maximised the use of available space. Stertil Koni and WNV Systems collaborated well to deliver an innovative and cost effective solution.”
