Cenex offers free impartial advice on electric fleet potential12 September 2014

Cenex is launching a free downloadable tool for fleet managers to evaluate the viability of low-carbon vehicles.

Promising impartial advice on electric vehicle deployment, the tool – called FCRT (fleet carbon reduction tool) lite – uses real duty cycles, fuel consumption and range data to deliver an accurate assessment of low-carbon fleet potential.

Fleet managers enter information into FRCT lite, such as the drive cycle split of urban, rural and motorways, ownership cycles and days of use. The tool then presents a dashboard showing economic and environmental performance, comparing a low-carbon vehicle to a diesel equivalent.

"Unlike other applications currently available on the market, our new tool ... will use real-world data that we have collected to help evaluate the viability of a range of low carbon vehicles within fleet operations, allowing fleet managers to make informed decisions which may be better suited to their operations," says Chris Walsh, head of technical support at Cenex.
