CS Ellis revolutionises logistics with mobile apps07 March 2016

Multi-site Midlands-based logistics firm CS Ellis reports revolutionised transport operations following the introduction of a driver and delivery management system with integrated vehicle tracking, proof of delivery, satellite navigation and messaging on touchscreen tablets.

James Munton, IT and health and safety manager at CS Ellis, says installing the JobWatch mobile system has also enabled the firm to eliminate paperwork, reduce operational costs and monitor driver behaviour.

“We had a basic tracking system for about six years but we had outgrown it... We needed a flexible system that could meet the needs of a large fleet,” states Munton

“After seeing the JobWatch system, we felt it met our requirements. We were attracted to the BigChange system because it was a lot more robust than we had seen elsewhere, and the support is excellent.”

JobWatch provides for quick, simple and accurate scheduling and planning of jobs and deliveries, which the company says enables operators to increase productivity and maximise billable time.

The live Google mapping – with live traffic – also displays the exact location of all vehicles and their current status, while alerts enable planners to advise customers of schedule changes or late arrivals.

“There have been many savings, including the obvious areas like fuel and minimising wear and tear on the vehicles – and we have also been able to standardise communications with our mobile workforce,” confirms Munton.

“The customer service has been outstanding. Our drivers can call or message the BigChange RoadCrew on the go and get support directly. This alone would make me buy the system.”
