ET Morris selects Krone for flexible flatbed trailers 25 July 2013

Boston- and Hull-based general haulage and storage operator ET Morris and Sons has taken delivery of 10 Krone flatbed trailers, which, says the company, can be quickly and easily retrofitted with curtainsider bodies.

ET Morris director Jeremy Morris says he chose the trailers, chiefly because of their loading flexibility and ability to extend the usefulness of the assets through the addition of new curtainsider bodies, if required.

The flatbeds themselves are lightweight, but come with a 15-tonne kingpin and neck capacity and Krone's well-known multi lock side raves, as standard.

"These platform trailers are not only quality assets in their own right, but also they are adaptable," confirms Morris. "If, in the future, we see a change in requirements, all we need to do is bolt on a Krone body, and the platforms become curtainsiders."

Morris says he likes the multi-lock side rave, 10-year anti- corrosion warranty, steel reinforced bulkhead, low tare weight and retrospective code XL certification.

"It's all about adapting to match customer needs and, with this solution, we can change from a platform to a curtainsider virtually overnight," he enthuses.

And that's the name of the game throughout. With 45 modern tractors in the fleet, including Volvo FH12s and DAF 105-510's, supported by a mixed trailer fleet of skeletals, coil carriers and curtainsiders, ET Morris also provides return load services along the M62 corridor and east of the M1.
