Go Plant Fleet Services enlarges workshop at Kettering depot UPDATED15 February 2019

Go Plant Fleet Services has expanded a workshop to support its commercial vehicle operation, which has almost doubled in the last year due to the company’s acquisition of SM Sweepers.

The repair and maintenance facility is located at Go Plant’s operating centre near Kettering. It is equipped with the latest workshop equipment, and features HGV lifts, brake static tester, testing bays and a parts storeroom.

“We’ve renovated existing offices, developed the site almost beyond recognition, more than doubled the number of drivers and now we’ve completed a workshop to support that growth,” says Adrian Bates, area manager.

“We’ve also won a number of new contracts including additional work on the Highways England A14 Improvement Project and others connected to the aggregate industry.

“We’ve exceeded our own targets made at acquisition and that has put us into a position where we’re now able to service any contracting work in the wider south Midlands region.”

The depot is also the first in Go Plant’s 44-strong UK network to achieve FORS Silver accreditation.

The facility was originally built in March 2018, when GO Plant acquired SM Sweepers.

UPDATED on 15/2: revised to clarify that the facility was newly expanded, not newly built.
