Hanbury Riverside banks on 1000th new Volvo truck11 March 2016

Used truck and contract lease provider Hanbury Riverside has taken delivery of its 1000th new Volvo truck, a specially liveried FH tractor.

Supplied by local dealer MC Truck & Bus (Thurrock), the Essex-based operator’s latest addition is a FH16-750 and has already gone into service on contract lease with a container haulage firm.

As well as a longstanding relationship with the dealer – it has supplied Hanbury with 877 new Volvo trucks – the operator rates the marque’s driver appeal and fuel efficiency.

Hanbury’s director Lee Smith says: “We like Volvo because the trucks are appreciated by drivers, and the fuel economy is consistently good. Volvo residuals are also consistently very strong.

“We enjoy a close relationship with M C Truck & Bus thanks to the product knowledge and the high level of continuity of the people we talk to there... I need the Volvo dealers to look after my customers and I have also had great support from Volvo Trucks in Warwick.

“I believe that, because Volvo have listened to drivers, they have got the product right. The seating, steering, vision and safety are much improved,” adds Smith.
