Hunts Foodservice goes fleet wide with Microlise telematics 19 March 2015

Hunts Foodservice is to install the Microlise telematics system on its 80 vehicles in a bid to get fleet-wide visibility for the first time.

The company. which distributes ambient, chilled and frozen foods, will get temperature monitoring and journey planning and management, with the implementation due to be completed by April, in time for the peak summer food season.

The system selected will also include the Microlise Proof of Delivery product, a paperless system that will allow Hunts to improve accuracy and efficiency around delivery processes.

"Microlise came highly recommended and the telematics solution we've agreed has the potential to transform our business operations," comments Thomas Hunt, operations directorat, Hunts Foodservice.

"Having the system installed in time for the summer will give us a valuable insight into the efficiency of our fleet during one of our busiest seasons," he adds.

Using Microlise's DriveTab ruggedised tablet, Hunts will also manage drivers' daily vehicle checks, and issues encountered during its route.
