West Lancashire-based J&M Morgan is using a heavy-duty washbay lift from Stertil Koni that offers a lifting capacity of 35 tonnes.

J and M Morgan has been keeping commercial vehicles in working order throughout the North West of England for more than 40 years.

The 10m long Skylift 350 is installed in a shallow recess, flush with the washbay area floor. Recessing the lift allowed J&M Morgan to save space as they no longer required the lengthy run-up ramps associated with a surface-mounted version of the lift. The hot-dip galvanised platforms, along with the marine coating on the lifting legs and stainless-steel bushes, are expected to offer protection within the harsh environment of a commercial vehicle washbay.

Located in an outside washbay area, the heavy duty, electro-hydraulic Skylift is operated via an adjacent stainless steel control console. Also, since the lift is electronically controlled, a number of specific requirements may be programmed into its operation whilst an internal patented ebright display provides constant system information.

According to Stertil, the narrow width and varying platform lengths of the Skylift accommodate any vehicle including lorries, buses and coaches, connected tractor/trailer units and articulated buses whilst remaining unobstructed from all sides.
