Kitchen supplier focuses on fraudulent claims with vehicle telematics14 August 2019

Manufacturer and retailer Wren Kitchens has equipped 150 of its vehicles with cameras and mobile digital recording systems, linked to a cloud-based 4G Bridge system, all provided by Brigade Electronics.

Wren chose the solution to tackle a growing problem with fraudulent insurance claims, as well as to monitor product deliveries and make vehicle manoeuvring easier for its drivers.

Each vehicle has seven cameras: internal cameras monitor the driver and the stock on board; external cameras cover the truck’s blind spots.

These cameras provide recorded footage and a live feed via Brigade’s Bridge 4G cloud service to support drivers with delivery issues and to provide evidence in the event of an incident.

Bridge dashboard software and the mobile app enables access to footage and data via the 4G network.

Downloads can be scheduled or automated so that footage does not have to be manually retrieved. Bridge can send immediate notifications to fleet managers in the event of an accident or triggered event such as speeding, excessive impact to the vehicle, and when vehicles have entered or exited geofenced areas.

Lee Halls, transport manager at Wren Kitchens, says: “We are extremely satisfied with the work Brigade has done for us. The Bridge system is easy to use and the fact that it’s an instant live feed means we don’t even have to access the vehicle to review any footage.

“If a customer has a problem at delivery, we can review the footage and solve any issues pretty much instantly. It’s a great system – I would highly recommend fitting Brigade.”
