Mercedes-Benz dealer offers CV wheel alignment in 10 minutes 08 July 2011

A Mercedes-Benz van and truck dealer, covering the South West of England, says it is working to help commercial vehicle operators reduce excessive fuel and tyre costs, caused by wheel misalignment.

City West Commercials, in Bristol, Devon, Somerset and Cornwall, has invested in two Axis200-2 wheel aligners from Haweka.

Stewart McLagan, aftersales director at City West Commercials, says the machine take less than 10 minutes to accurately measure every angle on a vehicle in the as-driven position – without lifting it.

"The Axis200-2 is a valuable piece of tooling, which enables technicians carrying out the job to set and align vehicles accurately," says McLagan.

"This means the vehicles we service will have their wheels perfectly aligned and can be driven away by the customer as our Mercedes-Benz manufacturer intended," he adds.

"Our customers will enjoy reduced running costs, through improved fuel consumption; savings on tyre costs and a more comfortable ride overall," he continues. "The aligners compliment the quality service we offer and what you would expect from a Mercedes-Benz dealership."

McLagan says the firm uses the equipment up to five times a week to perfectly align vehicles, ranging from the Vito, Vario and Sprinter vans to the large Actros and Axor trucks.
