Molan expands with 17 new trucks from Ryder 17 April 2013

Molan UK has taken delivery of 17 trucks on contract hire from Ryder, following the continued growth of its business supplying polycarbonate and plastic roofing products.

The new trucks were supplied from Ryder's Spalding location, and are a mix of DAF CF and LF vehicles, along with Iveco Dailys.

"Ryder now provides us with fixed operating costs, which means that our transportation stays in budget," comments Wayne Lawson, Molan UK's operations director.

"And we gain reliability benefits, knowing that our new fleet will always be available for work and able to maintain customer delivery schedules," he continues.

Lawson explains that the new trucks have replaced an ageing vehicle fleet, "which required expenditure to maintain and keep operational".

And he adds: "The new fleet now delivers substantially lower operating costs as well as the reliability we need."

Lawson also says that the new 18-tonne LFs will enable the company to extend delivery areas and its customer base in the building, construction and roofing industries.

"Versatility has also been improved as Ryder recommended that the Luton-bodied trucks have curtainsides to facilitate loading of pallets, while some of the trucks have been fitted with extended body lengths, which will enable larger and longer panels to be transported efficiently," explains Lawson.
