More legal advice for operators and drivers available from RHA03 September 2012

The Road Haulage Association has launched a new member service offering legal advice, assistance and representation.

Administered by Backhouse Jones, RHA Legal Services provides "a new generation of legal advice for members", according to the association.

"A mistake here or a poor decision there can make or break an operator and, for this reason, hauliers are well advised to surround themselves with legal advisers who can deliver the right decisions when the pressure is on," comments Michael Cunningham, director of Backhouse Jones.

RHA Legal Services is available to any main member, subject to a subscription fee based on the number of commercial and/or goods carrying vehicles operated, and complying with simple terms and conditions.

Once signed up, members will be able to access legal advice, assistance and representation from suitably qualified and industry specific lawyers, says RHA chief executive Geoff Dunning.

"We really are very pleased to be able to offer this cost effective and invaluable service to members" states Dunning.

"It is of paramount importance in today's uncertain economic climate that we can give members the peace of mind that that own legal adviser is literally just a phone call away."
