PCL Transport to take 250 Renault Premiums 07 May 2013

Chilled storage and distribution specialist PCL Transport 24/7 has ordered 250 Renault Premium Euro 5 460.25 tractor units.

The new trucks will be delivered throughout this year to meet the demands of the fast-growing company's expansion plans.

PCL Transport's 24/7 fleet went all-Renault in 2010 when the company replaced its Scania fleet with 70 Renault Premiums.

Joe Ricotta, director of PCL Transport 24/7, says the decision now to continue with Renault was based on the vehicles' performance. It means the company will be running an all-Renault fleet of more than 320 tractor units.

"The results we have seen from our Renault trucks fleet over the last two years have been impressive, with fuel returns offering up to 3—5% more than the previous vehicles," states Ricotta.

"Driver feedback is very positive, with excellent visibility and good all round ergonomics in the cab," he continues.

"With the Arla partnership operating in a FMCG [fast moving consumer goods] environment, reliability is key, with strict delivery windows to meet.

"The Renault product allows us to be at the leading edge of transport, with low whole life costs and maximum uptime."

Renault Truck Commercials, the largest dealer group in the Renault Trucks UK network, supplied the new trucks, with finance through Renault Trucks Financial Services.
