Quinn builds fleet of the future with Renault Range C04 December 2015

Northern Ireland-based Quinn Building Products has taken delivery of its first Renault Range C trucks, as part of a strategy to replenish its 140-strong mixed fleet.

Supplied by dealer Diamond Trucks, the two 32-tonne Range C380 8x4s are part of the ongoing investment programme, which aims to cut the age of vehicles and achieve full fleet replacement within the next three or four years.

Transport manager Gearoid Gilheany says the company’s takeover by Quinn Industrial Holdings a year ago has resulted in a strong focus on profitability and expansion.

“We are obviously delighted that sales are already up in most divisions and the new Range Cs will play an important role in further growing our business,” he says.

“We decided to go with the Range Cs as we’ve had previously favourable experiences with Renault Kerax eight-wheelers, and the deal with Diamond Trucks included a comprehensive warranty, which swung it in Renault Trucks’ favour.”

The Range C, he adds, has “impressive visibility and a shorter wheelbase, but same length of body makes it very manoeuvrable, especially for deliveries with limited access”.

Quinn has a further 10 heavy rigids on order.
