Renault truck duo tip up at Kingman Services 20 November 2012

London-based aggregate haulage specialist Kingman Services has taken delivery of two Renault Premium Lander 380bhp 8x4 rigids, fitted with Thompson tipping bodies.

The two Landers are the first Renault trucks to join the company's 50-strong fleet that is currently based on Mercedes-Benz, DAF and MAN vehicles.

Terry Francis, general manager of Kingman Services, says one of the factors in choosing the Renault trucks to replace two DAFs was their lightweight chassis.

"The payload on the new Renaults is around 19.5 tonnes, which is about half a tonne better than other marques," he comments.

"Bearing in mind that we only carry aggregates and get paid by tonnage, this is a far more economical option for us."

And he adds: "The Renault Landers represent excellent value for money and it was the overall cost of the vehicles, along with the competitive repair and maintenance package, which were the [other] deciding factors."
