Scania and Hyva technology tips it for Aston Tranport26 September 2014

Aston Transport has taken delivery of five Euro 6 Scania 8x4 tippers, fitted with multi-purpose tipping gear from Hyva, with payload and productivity the key reasons for selection.

Each of the trucks has a general-purpose 'Ultimate' steel body by Abba Commercials, mounted on a Scania P370 chassis, and offers a payload of 19,500kg.

"Since we last bought new tippers, everything to do with trucks has progressed - most of it quite dramatically," comments Scott Aston, director of Bilston-based Aston Transport.

"This has been a good time for us to take stock of everything that's going on and the vehicles we want to run. The key issue today is payload and vehicle productivity."

Hyva's Alpha FC137 cylinder, with tank and brackets, weights 100kg less than the previous FC149 version.

Aston describes it as "a complete performance solution in a single lightweight package".

"The new 137 is a true multi-purpose tipping gear," he adds.

"It's as strong as the older 149, yet equally able to handle site work and the rough terrain that we typically encounter on construction projects and landfill sites."
