Scania picks up more orders for the Irizar i616 July 2015

Scania has announced the latest orders for the Irizar i6 coach, including one repeat order and one first-time acquisition.

Peakes Coaches has taken delivery of a new Scania Irizar i6 12.45m overall length touring coach – the first time the Pontypool-based operator has purchased a new Scania vehicle.

The 53-seater is based on a Scania K 360 IB 4x2 chassis with a 360bhp Euro 5 engine and fully automated Opticruise gear selection system.

The Irizar i6 bodywork features leather headrests, rear seat tables, footrests, powered entrances and main locker doors, along with a Bosch audio/video system, two monitors and a reversing camera.

Elsewhere, Farnborough-based D&P Coaches has added three new Scania coaches to its fleet. Like Peakes' purchase, D&P's latest additions are also built on Scania K 360 IB 4x2 chassis and fitted with the Opticruise gear selection system.

As with all new Scania coaches, D&P Coaches will receive weekly fleet management data on vehicle and driver performance free of charge for the next 10 years.
