SRCL in rude health with Masternaut telematics 11 February 2015

Healthcare services group SRCL has gone live with the Masternaut Connect fleet telematics and management system across more than 900 vehicles.

Lee Jackson, group head of fleet services at SRCL, says the objective was to improve fleet efficiency and to improve customer service through accurate vehicle tracking.

Masternaut Connect is now being used across SRCL, including its ERS Medical patient transport ambulances and courier vehicles, tracking drivers' behaviour as well as engine idling to reduce fuel costs.

Jackson says data collected from the group's fleet will also be used to analyse where problems may be occurring and to improve vehicle and fleet performance and efficiency.

"While it's only been a few months since implementing Masternaut Connect, we've already been able to better analyse our services, thanks to high visibility of driver behaviour, fleet distance and any wastage," states Jackson.

"We look forward to further analysing the results once we've used [the system] for a longer period, and implementing a driver profiling program in February," he continues.

As for why Masternaut Connect, Jackson says he wanted an all-in-one solution that could "help us use our assets better, run an efficient fleet, and improve communication of essential information with customers".

And he adds that the group is already on track to see "great savings" by improving vehicle utilisation and using its assets better.
