Ten more Volvo FH tractors for Scotrans Pollock 23 August 2013

Scottish haulage contractor Pollock (Scotrans) has taken delivery of 10 new Volvo FH tractor units –marking almost 40 years of Volvo trucks in the fleet.

Supplied by Volvo Truck and Bus Centre North & Scotland, Edinburgh, the FH 6x2 tractor units have all been fitted with 500bhp Euro 5 engines mated to Volvo's I-Shift automated transmission systems.

Managing director Scott Pollock ordered the trucks immediately after testing the new FH range in Sweden last year, and went for the Globetrotter XL cabs.

Nine of the vehicles will be used on Pollock's frontline, long-distance operations across the UK, while the tenth arrival will be double-shifted on a mix of tipper and retail distribution work.

"We had at least 30 FH tractor units in our fleet from the mid-1990s onwards," notes Pollock. "The latest FH range offers an unrivalled driving environment for our long-distance staff and we've always found Volvos to be extremely reliable."
