Terberg DTS introduces Specialist Trailer Division 19 November 2015

Tugs and specialist vehicles provider Terberg DTS (UK) has established a trailer-focused business unit at its Yorkshire HQ, dubbed the Specialist Trailer Division.

Terberg DTS managing director Alisdair Couper says the new business will provide a solutions-based consultative approach to trailer design, including in sectors such as waste and recycling as well as renewable energy.

“In 2015 so far, we have had a record year for our specialist trailer sales [so] it made sense for us to create this as a stand-alone division,” comments Couper.

The launch of this new division sees the return of Bob Holt to the company, in the newly created position of Specialist Trailer sales manager, with responsibilities for the UK and Irish markets, supported by Mark McCluskey of MPM Specialist Vehicles.

Terberg has existing relationships with German trailer manufacturer Seacom, as well as the Finnish company Liftec, which design and manufacture self-loading cassette systems for ports and heavy industry.

“Our relationship with both Seacom and Liftec has gone from strength to strength in recent years, with trailer sales into the UK increasing year-on-year,” says Couper.

“By establishing trailer sales as a stand-alone division with ambitious future product plans, and combined with the return of Bob, we believe that there are substantial growth opportunities for us in this sector.”
