Former commons chief whip Patrick McLoughlin is the new Secretary of State for Transport, following the departure of Justine Greening in the recent Cabinet reshuffle.

Howard Tenens has welcomed Ian Jones, former managing director of Mercedes Benz Commercial Vehicles, to the board as a non-executive director.

Ulf Magnusson has succeeded Göran Nyberg as managing director, Volvo Trucks for the UK & Ireland. Nyberg moves on to Volvo Trucks North America.

Former armed forces engineer Arthur Gribbin has been appointed area service manager – north and Scotland, at Volvo Bus.

David Harper is Valeo Service UK's new truck product manager.

Eaton has named Patrick Randrianarison president of the vehicle group in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He will be responsible for leading Eaton's automotive and truck businesses in EMEA.

Several changes have been announced at Stagecoach, including chief executive Brian Souter replacing Sir George Mathewson, who is retiring. Garry Watts becomes deputy chairman and Martin Griffiths, finance director. All new positions are effective from 1 May 2013

City bus operator First Aberdeen has appointed Duncan Cameron as director and general manager.

The newly created position of head of international sales at Comma Oil & Chemicals has been filled by Chris Chapman.
