Bridget Rosewell OBE has been appointed chair of the DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency), its first non-executive chair position.

Formerly a commissioner for the National Infrastructure Commission since its inception in October 2015, and currently a non-executive director of Network Rail and Atom Bank, she is an economist who has set up and run multiple consultancies.

Rosewell joins DVSA as it prepares to launch a new, five-year strategy aimed at further improving road safety while ensuring services offer value for money.

MAN Truck & Bus UK has appointed long-standing employee, Joanne Duncan to the positon of new business development manager in its repair and maintenance department. She takes over from Ben Schwarz, who recently moved into the sales department as national sales planning manager.

Duncan brings a wealth of knowledge of repair and maintenance contracts, having started her career at MAN Truck & Bus UK as a repair and maintenance administrator in 1999 after five years at Ryder Truck Rental in the contract management department.

Schmitz Cargobull has appointed Tom Stott a sits new national sales representative for truck bodies. He brings more than six years of experience from Cartwright.

Montracon has appointed Sara Cleverley as area sales manager for rigid bodies. She has almost 20years’ experience in the truck industry, mostly in sales and sales support with nationally known companies in trailer and bodybuilding.

Bevan Group has appointing Ian Roberts as its first engineering and production director. He joins the Black Country-based business from Danish-owned truck-mounted crane manufacturer HMF, where he spent the last six years as managing director of its UK operation.

Roberts is now leading the design and manufacturing teams at Bevan’s three production facilities in the Black Country, as well as its Supertrucks operation in St Helens, Merseyside.

Recent changes to Wrights Group’sa management team include commercial director Sam McLaren assuming responsibility for vehicle sales, following Ian Downie departure from the business.

Meanwhile, David Barnett moves up from engineering and product development to business development director, and Nigel Connolly moves up to head of finance, following the departure of Mark Johnston.

Coach salesman Stuart Smithson has joined the team at Irizar UK as new vehicle sales account manager in the north, having left Plaxton, where he was used coach sales manager.

Renault Trucks UK has appointed Grahame Neagus new head of LCV responsible for the UK and Ireland. He was previously head of the Lex Autolease LCV department.

Michelin’s truck and bus division has strengthened operations in northern Europe, with the heads of its UK commercial and marketing teams taking on responsibility for Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.

The changes see Guy Heywood appointed truck & bus commercial director for North Europe; and Chris Smith becoming truck & bus marketing director North Europe.

Brian Currie (Milton Keynes) has appointed Mr Scott Fogharty as its new head of business at the Volkswagen Van Centre in Milton Keynes. Scott joins the family owned truck and van business from Inchcape Volkswagen and has 17 years of experience in the industry.

Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions the provider of tailor made fleet finance and management services for businesses across the UK, has appointed Chris Tubbs as Head of SME and Personal Leasing channel.

ATE Truck & Trailer Sales has appointed Tony Allenza as business development manager, supporting the retailer’s goal of “making commercial vehicle finance as easy to access as its stock of new and used trucks and trailers”. Allenza brings more than 28 years’ experience in the commercial vehicle industry, and will focus on strengthening the links between ATE and its sister companies Asset Alliance and Total Reefer.

Mat Wilkinson has been appointed commercial sales and marketing director for Continental Tyre Group, with responsibility for the UK and Republic of Ireland. With a career in the tyre industry that spans almost 20 years, Wilkinson takes over from Arthur Gregg, who has moved to integration manager for the Bandvulc business within Continental.

Carlo Ghirardo is the new president of Power management company Eaton’s Vehicle Group Europe, Middle East, Africa region, reporting to Ken Davis, president, Vehicle Group. Ghirardo most recently served as vice president and general manager for the Engine Air Management product group at Eaton. He will be based in Torino, Italy.

AL-KO Kober has appointed David Kirkley as commercial AMC sales manager responsible for supporting existing and new commercial vehicle chassis systems sales. He was formerly sales manager for Bradley Doublelock (an AL-KO Kober company).

Puddy Vehicle Solutions (PVS) has appointed Kelly Podbury to the position of business manager. She joined PVS from Weston College of Further and Higher Education in Weston-Super-Mare, where she worked in the creative arts faculty, managing the administration team, organising events, planning and managing projects, while ensuring policies and procedures were adhered to throughout the faculty.

Kwik Fit GB’s fleet operation has a new top management team in the form of Andy Fern, fleet sales director, and Simon Lucas to the newly created position of customer support director for Kwik Fit GB. The move follows the decision of Peter Lambert to retire from Kwik-Fit.
