The Knebworth-based operator has implemented an integrated package of Webleet, from TomTom Telematics, and fleet management system FleetCheck to help boost efficiency across its fleet. Cconsultancy support has been provided by TomTom reseller Auto Electrical Services.
By combining Webfleet and FleetCheck, AD Bly’s service schedules are based on up-to-date information drawn from the vehicle, including odometer readings. This helps the operator to conduct proactive maintenance work, calling vehicles in immediately when work is required.
Better reporting of mileage has also cut out-of-hours use of vehicles by 5,000 miles per year.
“Bringing different data streams together in one place has helped to change the way we work and allow us to gain greater insights into the operation of our fleet,” says Adam Gamlin, fleet manager.
AD Bly is also using OptiDrive 360, part of Webfleet, to improve driver behaviour across its fleet of two HGVs and 169 LCVs. Managers receive weekly reports detailing incidences of speeding, harsh steering and harsh braking, allowing them to target any performance issues that may impact fuel efficiency and safety.
The drivers receive in-trip feedback and predictive advice, giving them the information needed to make positive changes.
Gamlin added: “By unlocking a wealth of data on driving performance, we are now in an even better position to work with our drivers to improve their safety and help the business operate more efficiently. Our employees reacted well to the introduction of the technology and improvements to performance happened very quickly.
“Now, we are quickly able to identify the root causes of any performance issues and address these with individual drivers, providing the support, advice and training needed to help them improve.”
