Bedfords sees value in MAN TopUsed deal30 September 2016

Logistics firm Bedfords has taken delivery of its first MAN vehicles – 14 TopUsed TGX tractors.

The trucks are 26-tonne TGX 6x2/2 BLS models, with XLX cabs. They are powered by 12.4-litre, six-cylinder engines delivering 440bhp, with TipMatic transmission.

The vehicles are replacing other marques and have been acquired under MAN’s TopUsed £249 deal, which Bedfords’ managing director Lee Nichols describes as “very attractive”.

“It is an extremely competitive deal and it offers great clarity over cost control and the direct cost elements,” he says.

Bedfords plans a full fleet review in the next few months but, adds Nichols, “we don’t see the values of the TopUsed vehicles diminishing and they are an excellent choice for our business.

“We are a 365-operation doing contract work and general haulage and our trucks are working 24/7.”

The TopUsed deal offers a choice of 2012-registered vehicles from £249 a week on contract hire, and all are supplied with a full R&M package.
