Supplied by dealer Hartshorne (East Midlands), the new additions are four FM 26-tonne rigids and four FH13 6x2 tractors, all with Globetrotter cabs and I-Shift 12-speed automated transmission.
The rigids are specified with a 6,000mm wheelbase to accommodate fuel-saving curve 18-pallet curtainside bodies, by Lawrence David.
Powered by Euro VI D11K engines rated at 330bhp, the six in-line diesels also produce 1600Nm of torque between 950 and 1,400rpm. The FMs will be used on ATL’s nationwide groupage operations.
The quartet of FH tractors, meanwhile, set a new fleet power benchmark for the Foston-based operator, with D13K Euro VI power plant rated at 500bhp.
They have 6x2 pusher axle chassis fitted with Jost sliding fifth wheels, twin fuel tanks and an under-bunk fridge.
All eight are additions and join a fleet of 90 trucks and 150 trailers.
