Clugston Distribution chooses Renault for fleet expansion 04 January 2012

Clugston Distribution Services says it is already seeing the benefit of spending more than £500,000 on eight new Renault Premium tractor units.

"We are anticipating 2012 to be a successful growth year, across all areas of the business," says David Heath, general manager.

"Our curtain sided fleet, which only entered service last September [2011], is already working for a broad range of new customers and complements our specialist logistics services. The new tractor units will allow us to further develop our range of services," he adds.

Heath says Clugston Distribution is developing a presence in several new sectors, including fuels distribution and delivery of intermodal dry bulk containers, using its existing specialist vehicles.

The company's close proximity to the Humber ports, from its main Scunthorpe base, makes it well placed to serve such markets.

Indeed, in spite of the current economic climate, Clugston still plans to continue investing in its fleet, which should reach more than 70 vehicles by March.

Heath explains that it is part of the company's strategic drive to become one of the North's leading logistics distribution companies.
