Council sees benefits roll in from tyre management with ATS Euromaster21 September 2015

Cardiff City Council has seen a 95% reduction in out-of-hours callouts for its fleet in the first year working with ATS Euromaster.

Since ATS took over tyre management in October 2014, there have been just eight such callouts across the council’s fleet of 500 vans and 60 trucks – compared to an average of 150 per year previously.

The council has also seen a drop in tyre costs, thanks to an improved regrooving policy: 688 tyres were regrooved in the last 12 months, compared to 168 the year before.

“ATS Euromaster has worked closely with Cardiff Council to successfully deliver significant savings to the overall tyre spend and increased operational efficiencies,” confirms Richard Jones, Cardiff City Council’s fleet manager.

ATS says the drop in emergency callouts is due to its strong emphasis on preventative maintenance.

It has also introduced a Michelin-fitment policy since it began working with the council.
