East Anglian Resources lifted by ‘pioneering’ Volvo FH1631 January 2018

Waste wood recycler and equipment hire firm East Anglian Resources has taken delivery of a new Volvo FH16-750 tractor with Tandem Axle Lift – describing this as a “pioneering development” for fuel efficiency.

Supplied by Volvo Truck and Bus Centre East Anglia, the Peterborough-based operator’s new addition was specified with customised features, including bars and lights, by Tranz Tech, to mark the firm’s 20th anniversary.

James Tribe, director at East Anglian Resources, says the truck’s 6x4 double drive chassis “is the best on the road”, adding: “I specifically bought the FH16-750 to go on landfill work. The double drive helps because vehicles are liable to skid.”

He adds: “Tandem Axle Lift is used when the truck is running empty, so we save on diesel. The latter feature is a pioneering development.”

The FH16 joins five other Volvo trucks in the fleet, with Tribe describing them as “the hardiest lorries I have ever known”.
