Fleet Engineer of the Year awards now open13 June 2018

2017 fleet engineer of the year winner Satnam Cheema

The IRTE Fleet Engineer of the Year awards are now accepting entries. This free-to-enter scheme, now in its third year, recognises excellence in fleet engineering across road transport fields, including HGVs, buses, coaches and trailers.

In a busy, cost-competitive industry, fleet engineers can help make the difference between profit and loss. They can improve a fleet’s uptime just by keeping up with vehicle maintenance. In so doing, they may also protect the company – as well as the road-going public -- from the risk of accidents, and any ensuing legal or regulatory scrutiny. As vehicle technology continues to develop, making them ever-more sophisticated, the job of keeping vehicles on the road, keeping them safe and keeping them compliant becomes ever more complicated.

But the praises for these hidden heroes often go unsung. These awards aim to change that, by highlighting the achievements of fleet engineers, and the very real contribution that they make to the success of fleet operations.

Applicants who have been shortlisted will be invited to attend the IRTE Conference dinner, 26 September at the Leicester Marriott hotel, where the winner or winners will be announced.

Entrants need not be a member of the IRTE to apply. Application deadline: Friday 20 July.
