Freeway software tips it for waste management operator 03 April 2018

Waste management operator Sivyer has deployed Freeway’s fleet management software to manage its 110-strong fleet of tippers, grabs and concrete trucks, as well as 20 other items of plant.

The Freeway software replaces a paper-based system and is part of a wider fleet modernisation programme.

From its south-east London headquarters, Sivyer collects materials from sites across London and delivers them to facilities across the capital for reprocessing.

“With Freeway, we have not only eliminated a lot of cumbersome paperwork but we are now collecting useful data on the fleet and plant,” says Wendy Baxter, fleet coordinator, adding that the company found nothing else available to match the scope offered by Freeway’s system.

“We can provide management with a real insight into performance and costs, right down to individual parts – and the database is also web-accessible, which ensures corporate visibility,” she says.

“Freeway is a great auditing tool allowing us to ensure records are complete and correct, plus it’s really useful for recording events and pre-planning.

Sivyer’s next move is to automate the workshop and implement Freeway’s mobile apps for engineering worksheets and inspections – “something that will be really useful for the DVSA’s Earned Recognition scheme”, says Baxter.
