James Kemball takes 40 new Volvo FH tractor units 26 August 2015

Container haulier James Kemball has ordered another £3.5 million worth of high specification Volvo FH-500 6x2 tractor units.

All 40 of the 500bhp tractors have been specified with the Globetrotter cabs and I-Shift automated gearboxes, Drive+ trim, reclining bunks, swivel passenger seats, fridge, microwave and TV/DVD players, as well as Bluetooth.

"Volvo is a premium marquee," says James Kemball general manager Chris Abbott.

Abbott says that driver feedback and Volvo's emphasis on delivering a top class driver environment with the FH were major factors in the decision.

And he adds that this major order is part of his company's continuing drive to reduce emissions with its Euro 6 compliant vehicles and hence cut its carbon footprint.

The new FHs are being supplied by Volvo Truck and Bus Centre East Anglia, Felixstowe on Gold R&M contracts with Volvo's Uptime Assurance.

"James Kemball deliver a high level of customer service – therefore maximising vehicle utilisation and uptime are vital to us as a company," explains Abbott.
