McMurray’s Haulage extends DAF fleet contingent to meet demand30 November 2015

Family-run operator McMurray’s Haulage has taken delivery of five Euro 6 DAF XF 460 FTG tractors, to meet growing demand for its services.

Supplied by dealer Lancashire DAF, the 6x2 units bring the DAF share of the Accrington-based operator’s 50-strong fleet to 20 vehicles – a mix of XF tractors and CF rigids.

“Our experience with DAF trucks on the fleet has been very good: in fact we have broken our own policy of three-year replacement because they have run without almost any problems – and we are still not spending money on them in their fourth year with us,” says David McMurray, managing director.

Just as importantly, he says, fuel consumption on the DAF vehicles has been “very good throughout”.

The new vehicles are supplied on an operating lease through Paccar Financial. Routine maintenance is performed in house by McMurray’s, with additional servicing and repair carried out by the dealer, who McMurray describes as “genuinely excellent”.
