Renault Range T shows its mettle for heavy haulage firm07 January 2015

Haulier Evenheights is using a new 44-tonne Renault Range T to deliver products to London's transport network during the night.

The Range T480, supplied and maintained by Norfolk Truck and Van, is fitted with an Amco Veba 936 crane and has a 45ft all-steer trombone trailer, which can extend to 90ft.

The vehicle is delivering railway track lines, sleepers and ballasts for Transport for London and London Underground, as well as fabrication and RSJs for local steelworks.

"I've always been a fan of Renault Trucks and it was time to retire an old Euro 3 workhorse which has served us really well over the years," says Colin Wellington, owner of Enfield-based Evenheights.

"I'd heard great things about the new Range T ... so I decided to put it into action."

He adds: "We regularly pull a lot of weight – up to 22 tonnes – around the challenging city streets of London, so our vehicles need to be tough, reliable and up to the job."

So far, he says, the Range T is delivering on that promise and the drivers are impressed with its power.
