STS Logistics warms to MAN Trucks-to-go tractors deal06 March 2017

Refrigerated haulage specialist STS Logistics has gone for a fleet expansion, taking two MAN Trucks-to-Go tractor units – both TGX 26.480 6X2/2 BLS with XXL cabs – to meet increasing demand.

The Shropshire-based operator went for the 480bhp D2676LF six-cylinder, 12.4 litre engines, delivering 2,300Nm torque under MAN’s TopTorque shift strategy, and driving through MAN Tipmatic 12-Speed AMTs (automated manual transmissions).

STS Logistics director Chris Jones additionally specified MAN’s air management kit, Dura brite alloy wheels, leather interiors and fridges

“Initially, we were looking to buy one MAN TGX as a replacement for a 64 plate, but with the service packages, customer service and part-exchange prices available, they were too good to walk away from – and we ended up purchasing two,” recalls Jones.

“We’ve had MANs in our fleet for the past two years and in that time we have experienced very few problems,” he continues.

“We bought these two vehicles with our drivers in mind. The trucks are smooth to drive, have spacious cabs and are economical. They are reliable, and I can be assured that MAN is on hand if I need them.”
